Metro Self-Storage facilities are available for customer access 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Absolutely no customer access is allowed outside of these hours.

Our office is open for customer payment and information 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays.

To reserve a specific room, you will need to make a reservation in advance and provide a full first month’s payment. However, your contract term doesn’t start until you begin to move your items into the unit, which means that you won’t be paying for unused time. Certain room sizes are extremely limited, so we recommend that you visit our facility to select and reserve your room.

The minimum storage contract we offer is one month. Even if you need the room for a week or two, we require a monthly contract.

We charge absolutely no initial start-up fees. All you’ll pay is the monthly rental cost. However, we do charge a $20 late fee if your bill is 5 or more days overdue. Once a bill is 60 days overdue, we will charge a $50 collection fee each month until the balance is paid in full. If the account is sent to the auctioneer for sale, we will also charge $50 auction collection fees and $100-$250 in auctioneer fees.

We do not prorate rent to the first of the month. Contract terms are based on the date that you begin moving items into your storage unit. However, that means that when you move out you must vacate your unit before the due date to avoid another monthly charge.

If you need to move your due date, please call the office and we can change the date to whenever is convenient for you. Keep in mind, you will have to pay the daily difference to adjust your due date. Most rooms only cost around $2 per day to move the due date. We do not issue refunds for unused time.

We offer discounts for prepaying rent, as well as for veterans and college students. In addition, we provide a $100 credit for customers who refer their friends or family to Metro—call for details! For a listing of all other current specials, visit our Specials page

We have a brand-new, 24-hour monitored security system which includes alarms on every door and window in the facility. In addition, we have motion detectors, infrared beams, and CCTV that is monitored throughout the day. The only people who have access to the facility are customers who are paid in full, or access persons authorized by customers on their contract.

We are proud to say that we have never had an incident in nearly 40 years of operation.

We accept cash, check, money orders, American Express, Discover, Visa and MasterCard. We don’t accept personal checks for moving-out payments or for auction accounts. Feel free to call during business hours to make a credit card payment over the phone. You can also pay online via our website 24 hours a day. For your convenience, we offer automatic credit card billing.

Metro Self-Storage does not insure any goods in the facility, including vehicles. However, we do provide information from a third-party company that sells affordable rental insurance if you so choose. You can also contact your insurance provider to see if your homeowners or renters insurance policy covers items in storage.

Although our facility is heated and dehumidified, we are technically not “climate controlled,” as we don’t have air conditioning. Our building rarely sees temperatures above 75 degrees due to insulation, so we do not have the need to air condition. You can rest assured that your belongings are in safe temperatures—we have customers that store everything from fine art to wine collections.

You are able to drive up to many of our storage units—however, keep in mind that three of the overhead doors in our facility have 9.5-foot clearance, while the other two have 11.5-foot clearance. The height restriction to the second floor and lower level of the facility is 9 feet. We recommend that you select your storage space before you rent a moving truck so that we can advise you on the best options for access.

Yes, all units must be locked. It is your responsibility to provide a lock for your unit, as we do not keep keys. Any standard-size lock will work on our rooms—please keep in mind that round disc locks will not fit on our doors. We sell locks at the front desk if you should need one. If we notice that you do not currently have a lock on your room, we will provide a lock and bill it to your account.

Before packing your items into a storage unit, first think about what items you may need easy access to. How you pack your items also depends on the larger pieces you have and how many boxes, totes, and odd-shaped items you will be storing. Any member of our team can help advise you on best storage practices.

We do have various sizes of boxes as well as moving supplies and plastic covering available. Please see our front desk for more information on what is available.

Refrigerators and stoves can be stored, but they must be thoroughly cleaned beforehand. Absolutely no storing food, firearms, or explosives. Lawnmowers or any fuel-containing devices must be drained before storing to prevent fire hazards. Refrigerator doors are to either be removed or propped open. Vehicles are only allowed to be stored in our vehicle storage facilities. Please feel free to reach out to a member of our team if you have any questions about what can or can’t be stored.
